Nestled on the historic Maha Rat Road in Bangkok’s Phra Nakhon district, Nuss Bar occupies a refined corner of the shophouse housing the celebrated restaurant Nusara. From the moment you enter, the décor makes an impression: rich crimson walls, plush velvet seating, gold accents and large windows framing the grandeur of Wat Pho. Founded in collaboration between renowned chef Thitid “Ton” Tassanakhajohn and top mixologist Ronnaporn “Neung” Kanivichaporn, the bar reflects a deep appreciation for Thai flavours and craftsmanship in cocktails. The menu emphasises classic spirits and forms — such as Daiquiri, Negroni, Sidecar — but re-imagined with local ingredients: palm sugar, longkong (langsat), cashew or seasonal Thai fruits and house infusions. Signature drinks change every three months, offering four featured creations per season based on locally-sourced spirits and ingredients. Expect standout options like a “Palm Daiquiri” made with fresh palm sugar, and “Cashew Sidecar” using cashew juice and amaro for layered flavour. Though compact and intimate (around 16 bar seats plus lounge seating) the atmosphere is dynamic, stylish and perfect for a special evening out in Bangkok’s Old Town. The service is polished, the bartenders attentive, and the setting especially notable for the view of Wat Pho across the street. Pricing is at the higher end for the area (cocktails from around THB 390–440) and the dress code leans smart-casual. In many ways, Nuss Bar is a micro-destination: not just a stop for a drink, but an immersive moment of design, heritage, craftsmanship and flavour in one. Whether you’re starting the evening before dinner at Nusara or winding down after a night exploring Old Town, it delivers a refined cocktail experience with Thai soul.
