Cosmo Pony

Cosmo Pony is a convivial, cosmopolitan cocktail bar perched on Level 4 of Grand Hyatt Jakarta. It launched in July 2024 as a collaboration between Singapore’s Jigger & Pony Group and Jakarta’s The Union Group, marking Jigger & Pony’s first overseas venture. The bar is envisioned as Jakarta’s “living room”—a place for locals and visitors to relax, socialize, and enjoy thoughtful drinks. The “RISING CITY” menu (its inaugural menuzine) draws inspiration from Umberto Boccioni’s painting The City Rises (1910), capturing motion, urban energy, and emotional contrast. Inside, the design leans into mid-century modern elegance: deep banquettes, forest-green marble bar counters, warm wooden panels, parquet floors, and artful lighting. The lounge area allows quieter conversation, while seating at the bar gives direct view of the mixology in action. Signature cocktails include playful yet refined interpretations: Ugly Bananas (whisky, overripe banana, jasmine, etc.), Tequila Cosmo (a twist on the classic using tequila + roselle, etc.), and creative riffs on whisky, brandy, and local spirit blends. The menu also supports punch bowls and decanter serves. Food is conceived as bar snacks or light bites to accompany the drinks. The experience is lively but polished: evenings often include music (R&B / hip-hop) to lift moods. Though situated in a hotel, Cosmo Pony positions itself not as an adjunct but as a distinct destination—its identity, hospitality, and craft align it strongly with Jakarta’s evolving cocktail scene.
