Located on the LG floor of Chinachem Hollywood Centre (1-13 Hollywood Road, Central, Hong Kong), The Iron Fairies Hong Kong brings a mythic twist to nightlife. Designed by Australian visionary Ashley Sutton, the space draws on the imagery of a subterranean forge and a fairy-mine: imagine wrought iron, old-world timber, burnished brass, and ceiling-high displays of preserved butterflies dancing above you. Entering feels like stepping into another realm: from the heavy iron door to the softly lit interiors, you encounter table settings with miniature iron fairies, suspended bronze keys, candlelight, leather banquettes, and an ambience thick with craft and character. On the sound side, the venue offers live jazz/blues and DJ sets covering global rhythms—from Latin and African to house and pop mash-ups—giving it standing as a destination for both listening and dancing. Cocktails here are as theatrical as the setting. A signature drink like the “Midnight Butterfly” blends passion-fruit rum, ginger syrup and lemon, while the “Smoke in a Bottle” features house-infused blueberry vodka, elderflower liqueur and a cloud of smoke poured tableside for maximum effect. The food menu complements with elevated comfort-style bites and late-night plates. Though the décor is richly fantastical, it remains a legitimate nightlife venue: it opens daily from around 6 pm and runs into the early morning (2 am or beyond) in Central Hong Kong. The overall vibe is upscale, theatrical and immersive—ideal for a special night out rather than a casual drink. Expect to linger among the hidden alcoves (casting-rooms built into iron furnaces!), soak in the mood, order expertly crafted cocktails, and perhaps stay until the live band sets in.
