Eau de Vie is a dimly lit, prohibition-style cocktail bar tucked down secluded Malthouse Lane in Melbourne CBD—think secret doors, vintage booths, low wood panelling, and bartenders in waistcoats serving whisky and cocktails with flair. Boasting a whisky collection of over 700 global labels, the bar hides a Whisky Room behind a bookcase, alongside a Library featuring an exclusive five-course cocktail and whisky degustation experience for up to 16 guests, plus rentable private events for up to 32. Cocktails are visually dramatic and inventive—from flaming serves to liquid nitrogen effects. Classics like the "Banderillero" (tequila, chorizo mezcal, pineapple vinegar, Aperol, served in a hollow bull’s horn) exemplify the theatrical yet balanced style of the menu.
