Dali & Gala
Dali & Gala is a high-concept cocktail lounge on Museum Road, Bangalore, where art and drink converge in a vividly immersive experience. The space—about 2,500 sq ft and seating around 69 guests—is segmented into thematic “rooms” (Rose Room, Mirror Room, Rooster Room, Animal Room, Dali’s Library) each paying homage to elements of Salvador Dali’s surrealism, his relationship with his muse Gala, and expressive motifs of love, excess, and visual provocation. The bar is more than décor: their cocktail program leans heavily on agave spirit (mezcal/tequila), but supports a full roster of gin, whisky, rum, and classics. Drinks carry playful, provocative names—Phone Sex (mole bitters, gin, strawberry, caramel), Gala Negroni, Disco Porn, Elephant Paloma, Two Sidds — all crafted with theatrical garnishes and experiential touches. Accompanying the drinks is a small-plates menu inspired by Burmese and Asian flavors: raw mango salad on crisp rice crackers, grilled beef skewers, rice paper rolls, chicken basil, fried rice, and noodles. The food is meant to complement, not overpower, the drinking experience. Visiting Dali & Gala is meant to feel like walking into a surreal art installation: rotating heads behind the bar, copper “eyes” built into the bar counter, provocatively placed art, interactive sculptures, mirror reflections of patrons, and subtle narrative nods to Dali & Gala’s story. The vibe is energetic but refined—crowds include date nights, creative types, groups celebrating, and cocktail aficionados. The lighting is moody, music is supportive (not overpowering), and the service is often noted for staff who explain art or drink backstories. It’s not a place to rush. The spatial layout encourages lingering, exploring corners, and letting the art and drinks slowly unfold.
