Röda Huset

Röda Huset, meaning “Red House,” is perched above Sergels Torg at Malmskillnadsgatan 9 in central Stockholm. Opened in September 2021 by renowned bartender Hampus Thunholm (formerly of Fäviken and Svartklubb), it stretches across three glowing crimson levels that double as an artful city landmark.

Dedicated to showcasing Scandinavia in a glass, the drink menu reflects the seasons and local terroir. Ingredients come from partner farms and orchards—perhaps Gotland dairy, Swedish apples, rhubarb, cloudberries, even hops—transformed into inventive cocktails such as the silky clarified milk punch “Good Crème,” Bitter Rhubarb negroni twist, Carrot akvavit cocktail, Apple & Hops, and Sweet Vernal Grass with Good Cream.

The bar’s upscale yet approachable vibe—floor-to-ceiling windows, stylish Scandinavian décor—offers sweeping city views and a lively atmosphere that transitions from early evening to late-night (until ~01:00 Fri–Sat). Opening hours typically run Tue–Thu 17:00–00:00, Fri–Sat 15/16:00–01:00, closed Sun–Mon .

Röda Huset consistently ranks among the world’s top bars—#45 in The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024—and scored the Ketel One Sustainable Bar Award in 2023 for its local sourcing and sustainable ethos.
