KASCHK began life as a café with Scandinavian influences and gradually evolved into one of Berlin’s most beloved hybrid hangouts. In its incarnated form KASCHK by BRLO, it balances café, beer bar, and game-lounge duties with surprising fluidity. By daylight it’s bright and relaxed: specialty filters, pastries, light bites, and coffee culture at its heart. As evening falls, the taps come alive — up to 14 draft beers (local and Scandinavian microbrews) and a rotating selection of bottles & cans. The basement hides the real draw for many: shuffleboard tables. Two large shuffleboards reside downstairs, offering a playful leisure counterpoint to the beer & café mood upstairs. In that way, KASCHK channels the Scandinavian “hygge + games + drink” formula into Berlin’s nightlife. In late 2021, when KASCHK risked closure during the pandemic, it was integrated more closely with BRLO, the Berlin craft brewery brand, adopting parts of BRLO’s food & beer ethos. The refresh included a refined food menu: fermented & pickled vegetables, charcuterie from Berlin producers, and late-night snacks to pair with beer. The interior leans wood, Scandinavian minimalism, warm lighting, communal benches, and a downstairs lounge zone for games and relaxed nights. KASCHK is also intentional about inclusivity: it identifies itself as an LGBTQI+ safe space and is welcoming to families, breastfeeding mothers, and children. As the day transitions, it’s common to see guests slip from coffee to beer to shuffleboard in one evening — the place is versatile, playful, and rooted in craft & conviviality.
