La Mula de Moscú is a standout cocktail lounge in Bilbao’s Abando district at Alameda Recalde 15 (48009 Bilbao, Biscay). Established in October 2016, it combines a modern décor, attentive service and a menu that mixes original cocktails, classics and a “picoteo” food offering for sharing. Walk-in through its sleek entrance to a space that balances stylish lounge vibes—comfortable seating, ambient lighting, music—with the buzz of a cocktail bar. According to Bilbao Turismo, “coctelería en pleno centro … imprescindible probar su selección de cócteles de autor y el cóctel que da nombre al bar” (i.e., the “Mula de Moscú”). The cocktail list is diverse and approachable. From classic staples (Negroni, Dry Martini) to signature creations in their “Shaking the Mind” section—such as “Colada Ahumada” (rum with caramelised pineapple and pepper), “Unusual Craft Beer” (gin with Amer Picon & spices) and “Hattori Sour” (gin, plum liqueur, ginger) — you’ll find drinks around €8-9. The bar also caters to non-classic tastes, with creative flavours, presentation and willingness to customise. Food-wise, the menu offers a blend of international share plates: ceviches, Asian-inspired dishes, nuggets, burrata etc., to pair with the drinks. The emphasis is on comfortable casual dining alongside cocktails. Typical hours: Monday to Thursday from ~16:00–01:00, Friday & Saturday until ~02:30, Sunday afternoon from 13:00. Good for after-work drinks, relaxed dinners or a pre-night-out cocktail stop in Bilbao. Arriving earlier helps secure good seating, especially on weekends.
