Kryivka
Kryivka is one of Lviv’s most iconic and immersive themed restaurants, designed to resemble a secret bunker used by the Ukrainian Insurgent Army during World War II. Located “somewhere at Rynok Square,” the entrance is intentionally unmarked, enhancing its clandestine allure. To gain entry, visitors must respond to the guard's greeting of “Slava Ukraini” (“Glory to Ukraine”) with the password “Heroyam Slava” (“Glory to the Heroes”) . Inside, the ambiance is that of a wartime hideout, complete with stone walls, wooden furnishings, and military artifacts. Staff dressed in period uniforms serve traditional Ukrainian dishes, such as smoked pork snouts and ears, often presented in military-style tins . The experience is further enriched by occasional live music and interactive performances, creating a lively and patriotic atmosphere. Kryivka is not just a restaurant; it's a journey into Ukraine's past, offering both locals and tourists a taste of history combined with hearty cuisine and spirited entertainment.
