Nestled on the fringe of Northbridge and Highgate at 195 Brisbane St in Perth, Bar Love is the creation of bar veterans Pippa Canavan and Murray Walsh, who set out to craft a space where bold fun meets serious drink-making. From the front window’s gold-leaf signage proclaiming “Cold Drinks, Warm Service and Hot Bartenders” to the velvet love-seats, mirror-ball panther and pink-and-orange palette inside, the aesthetic channels disco-flair with a laid-back local-bar heart. Inside, expect a thoughtfully curated cocktail menu featuring standout creations such as the “Peaches & Cream Negroni” and the “Vamos Martini” (a cheeky hybrid of espresso martini meets viral Mont Blanc coffee). Alongside top-tier cocktails, the taps flow with batched mixes from local craft players and a compact but strong selection of WA wines and beers. Food comes via a lively collaboration with the neighbouring kitchen of Peasant’s Paradice (led by chef Dwight Alexander), delivering snack-friendly fare spiced with global influence- think East African spiced fries, curry-style pies, or Peri-Peri toasties. Bar Love positions itself as an LGBTQIA+ safe space where “all are welcome” and “zero-tolerance for discrimination” is part of the ethos.
